All General Practice staff must undertake regular renewals of mandatory training (many are annual, some are less frequent). It is important to ensure the team have the time to complete this training. As a team it is also important for us to have some time together to review audits of our work, and plan how we can continue to improve our service and care for our patients.
General Practices are permitted to close occasionally in order to have protected time to focus on these key requirements. Closures typically occur quarterly, although there have been some additional closures during 2023 and into early 2024 to enable Practices to ‘catch up’ after having had no closures during Covid lockdown 2020-2023. Closures usually last for half a day, and usually in the afternoon.
We do our very best to minimise disruption to patients during these times and are very grateful for your understanding during these times.
